Internship Sites

Need Extra Hands? At No Cost To You?

The Young Professionals Network is seeking businesses interested in becoming work experience sites for our youth. Interns will be between the ages of 16-21 looking for opportunities for professional and personal development.

Joliet Junior College will provide payment of wages, provide workers compensation coverage and will coordinate the overall agreement and management of the work experience. Together we will work hand-in-hand to make the experience beneficial for everyone involved.

Mentors

Do You Want To Impact The Future Workforce of Grundy County?

The Young Professionals Network is seeking community/business leaders interested in participating in a traditional mentor program for older youth in need of professional and personal development. The program will focus on the following two areas:

  • Career Development and Life Skills
    • The activities between the mentor and mentee will incorporate career exploration, academic and workforce preparation, and independent living skills
  • Character, Social and Leadership
    • The activities will include developing self-awareness, self-management skills and understanding cause and effect

The minimum time commitment from both the mentor and men tee will be four months, and will meet at least twice a month to engage in goal oriented activities.
